Week 7
Hola,
I made it down to Chile safely!
The flight here was kind of lame but it's all good. I was able to see my MTC district at the airport so that was cool. The first day we went to the mission office and met the mission president, and they're super cool. He said that our mission is the poor part of Santiago and there are a lot of people that need to hear the gospel, so I'm excited. My trainer Elder Ruggs es un perro. We had a "get to know u" activity at the mission office and the first thing he said is that he loves lucha libre so we've been quoting Nacho all week.
I have to be in a 10 day quarantine this week so I haven't done much. But we did go to the market today and got some food, and it was very good. The members are really nice here and have dropped off grub at our apartment everyday. I had my first lesson on the phone last night with a man named Gerardo, and he said that he'd start praying. My Spanish obviously sucks, but I was able to teach about the restoration and bear my testimony a few times while my companion did the rest. He said that he could understand everything I said and that he was surprised I have only been here for 3 days. You don't need to have every conjugation down to have the spirit haha.
I felt the table rumbling during study yesterday and it lasted for like 15 seconds, so I looked at my companion and told him to stop shaking his legs so hard. Turns out earthquakes happen once every other week here so that's kinda loco.
The only bad thing about this week was going from -9999 to 95 degrees within a span of 2 weeks so I was sweating bullets when I got off the airplane with my suit coat on carrying like 20 bags.
